First Tuesday of each month
Our monthly gatherings take place in the Travelodge meeting room adjacent to the Toby Carvery pub in Redhill. Starting at 7.30pm. All members are welcome.

Meet on Platform 2 at Redhill Station around 10.20am, to catch the 10.41 train to Victoria, ready to join the march at noon. We will have Green flags/posters for easy identification.

Tuesday 23 October: Public meeting on oil drilling in Horley
7.45pm at the Catholic Church Hall, 4 Vicarage Lane, Horley RH6 8AR 

Horse Hill Developments Ltd is preparing a planning application for the next stage of work at Horse Hill, where extended flow testing for oil is currently under way.

Plans include:
  • Drilling four more wells
  • Enlarging the site
  • Gas flaring
  • “Significant noise”
  • 500 tonnes a day production

They say the proposals would “significantly change the landscape” and have “an adverse effect upon valued landscapes”.

Come to a public meeting to discuss how we can oppose this community- and climate-wrecking plan.  Read more


Tuesday 6 November 2018: AGM and discussion: Jobs in a green economy

Members are invited to attend our AGM at 7.30pm.

Afterwards, please stay for a discussion on climate jobs in Surrey. How would a transition to a zero-carbon economy affect employment here?  Would jobs be lost or gained? What kinds of jobs might be created, and where?  Jonathan Essex will present new research from the Green House think tank.

We’ll also have an update on plans for massively-expanded oil drilling at Horse Hill, near Horley.

The venue is the Redhill Travelodge(next to the Toby Carvery). It’s 2 minutes from Redhill Station (platform 3 exit) and there is a car park. The meeting room is accessible for those with disabilities.


14 November 2018: Make Your Business Smarter – Opportunities and Benefits for Businesses from Low Carbon Economy

Surrey Chambers of Commerce are hosting this networking event, where you can hear from expert speakers who will be discussing how you can make your business smarter through a shift in focus towards sustainability. The speakers will include Surrey Greens Jonathan Essex and Peter Sims, who have written reports on job creation in a low-carbon economy.



Tuesday 4 December

Our December gathering will include a discussion on how to live a low-waste lifestyle.
