Love your park – have your say now

The local council is consulting on how to improve our parks, playgrounds and larger ‘greenspaces’ including the Earlswood Common nature reserve. Cllr Della Torra says, “We are delighted that the council is finally listening to residents views on this – and hope it will now make these spaces better for both residents’ and wildlife.” There’s still time to have your say by September 29th online or on paper.

The survey focuses on parks and sports provision but we also need woods and wilder areas, wetlands and meadows for residents and wildlife to prosper. Opportunities to be in nature and connect with the plant and animal life is believed to improve mental health and general well being. We could improve the variety of wild flowers, birds, insects, amphibians, reptiles and small mammals by providing the habitats where they can thrive.
